A residential block in Bayonne could soon have more residents.
Construction is proceeding on a new five-story development at 43-45 West 32nd Street in the Peninsula City. Located between Broadway and Avenue C, the project is expected to consist of 24 residential units and 24 parking spaces when finished, according to The Kislak Company.
The sidewalk in front of 43-45 West 32nd Street is closed to pedestrians while the building itself has topped out. A sign on the premises associates Gold Coast Builders with the project.
A house used to stand at the site and was vacant for several years before being sold for $1.27 million.
The parcel is situated near the Bayonne Public Library and is within walking distance of the 34th Street stop on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail along with a stop on the sole New Jersey Transit bus that terminates in Lower Manhattan instead of at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
