We heard rumblings about this for a few months now but waited on independent verification, well now we have it. The Real Deal reports that WeWork is planning to bring its WeLive concept to their upcoming location at One Journal Square.
As previously reported, WeWork is planning 101,000 square foot co-working space in the $400 million Journal Square project via a collaboration with KABR Group and Kushner Companies. WeWork also received a $59 million award from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority for the location that is expected to create 723 full-time jobs.
WeLive is WeWork’s co-living concept first introduced at 110 Wall Street in Manhattan where in addition to access to the co-working space, tenants rent a bed or room in a shared apartment. According to The Real Deal, rents run upwards of $1,375 in the Wall Street tower. There’s another WeLive location in Washington DC. The One Journal Square outpost will be the company’s third WeLive location.
