Two major development projects are in the works for a group of nearby properties in Bayonne, but details about the plans are currently scarce.
A public notice issued by Bayonne Land Use Administrator Lillian Glazewski at the end of March shows that Lehigh Realty Co., Inc. is proposing a massive project at 103-143 East 22nd Street and 43-75 Mechanic Street.
Meanwhile, RAM Development, LLC is planning a large development at 37, 39, and 41 Mechanic Street along with properties such as 130-134 Avenue F.
The tracts in question are located near Route 440 and are situated not far from the 22nd Street stop on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail.
Lehigh Realty Co., Inc.’s project would include 354 units and 436 parking spaces, according to the notice. RAM Development, LLC’s plans call for 197 units and 245 parking spaces. Both buildings would be six stories tall.
Both developers are seeking Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan approval. The matters were scheduled to go before the Bayonne Planning Board during a special meeting on April 7, but the hearing was canceled due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.
