When asked if selling the property means he is retiring, Mr. Dillin said simply, “No, I’ll be around.” And he is realistic about the fate of the Chuck Wepner Waiting Room. “Whatever happens happens,” he said. A privately funded statue of Chuck Wepner is in the works and will be placed at the top of the steps in Hudson County Park, Bayonne — the site of Chuck’s real-life workouts that inspired Sylvester Stallone’s iconic scene, running up the Philadelphia Museum of Art stairs.
