
One of the country’s fastest growing restaurant chains will be launching their second store in Hudson County and ninth in New Jersey as Sweetgreen is officially beginning their run in the Mile Square City.
Earlier this year, the California-based brand announced they were setting up shop at 218 Washington Street in Hoboken. A renovation to the space is now complete and Sweetgreen will be holding a Grand Opening party on August 26 starting at 10 a.m.
The new 1,988-square-foot location will celebrate the launch with special treats for guests, including Sweetgreen tote bags and Pilates socks, while supplies last. The giveaways will be limited to the first 150 customers.
Besides the swag, Sweetgreen will be donating a meal to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey for every meal purchased by customers on opening day, The non-profit helps nourish those in the Garden State experiencing food insecurity.
For those uninitiated, the restaurant serves up its renowned salads, warm bowls, protein plates, and sides. Highlights on the menu include their crispy rice bowl, caramelized garlic steak, and miso glazed salmon.
Sweetgreen is still sporting their limited-time summer menu that is set to rotate as the weather changes. Seasonal picks leaving soon include a peach and goat cheese salad or a chicken caprese.
The company has expanded significantly in recent years, running a total of over 900 restaurants nationwide. The Hoboken location marks Sweetgreen’s second foray into Hudson County, as the brand opened their first Garden State location in Jersey City just about five years ago at 90 Hudson Street.
Statewide, the company additionally operates stores in Montvale, Morristown, Montclair, Marlton, Shrewsbury, Hackensack, and Westfield. Similar to their other outposts, their operating hours in Hoboken will run daily from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
