The owner of a site along Route 9 in Ocean County is looking to turn the premises into a residential development.
Covered Bridge Sports Plex Corp. filed an application with the Lacey Township Planning Board involving 208 North Main Street in the municipality’s Forked River section.
The company is seeking to “raze all existing structures and other associated site improvements” in order to “construct one 8 unit affordable housing building and 70 market rate townhouse units in eleven 3 story buildings,” according to a public notice that was issued in late December.
The notice indicates that the application covers Lots 22 through 26 of Lacey Township’s Block 314. Ocean County tax filings list Covered Bridge Sports Plex Corp. as the owner of three tracts in this area, including 206-A and 208 North Main Street along with a parcel simply referred to as “East Side of R.R.” The three properties take up a total of 7.69 acres.
Part of the site includes Nikko Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar while 208 North Main Street was once listed as the address of Blast! Fun Park.
The Lacey Township Planning Board is scheduled to hear Covered Bridge Sports Plex Corp.’s request for preliminary, final major site plan, subdivision, and conditional use approval with variances on Monday, January 11, according to the notice. The meeting is expected to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Note to readers: The dates that applications are scheduled to be heard by the Lacey Township Planning Board and other commissions are subject to change.
