A developer could soon receive the necessary approvals to move forward with bringing a five-story building to six North Bergen properties that sit undeveloped and partially wooded.
An application for preliminary and final site plan approval from 34 Liberty Avenue, LLC and Sergio Ariz says that a 44-unit apartment development is in the works for 3309, 3311, 3315, 3317, 3319, and 3323 Liberty Avenue
Located between Union Turnpike and the Route 495 overpass near Paterson Plank Road and Tonnelle Avenue, these lots are in a residential and industrial area of North Bergen that is generally off the beaten path when it comes to new multi-family development.
Should this project be approved by the North Bergen Zoning Board of Adjustment during its meeting today, Monday, August 23, and continue moving forward, there would be 27 one-bedroom units, 17 two-bedroom units, a gym, and 62 parking spaces in the building, according to site plans from Kaltsis Architecture, LLC that were released by North Bergen’s municipal government.
The site plans show that two elevators would be included in the development and that parking would take up much of the basement and ground floor.
Note to readers: The dates that applications are scheduled to be heard by the North Bergen Zoning Board of Adjustment and other commissions are subject to change.
