A plan to build a new multi-family development in a North Bergen neighborhood could be approved tonight.
The North Bergen Zoning Board of Adjustment is scheduled to hear a proposal for a building with 20 residential units and 30 parking spaces at 4512 and 4514 Grand Avenue by the corner of 46th Street, according to the agenda for the meeting on May 5.
Paramus-based developer 4512-4514 Grand Ave., LLC’s application says that preliminary and final site plan approval are being sought for this five-story development, as are variances related as use, height, parking, and other proposed deviations.
Located in the township’s New Durham section, the tracts are within a half-mile walk of the Tonnelle Avenue terminus on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail.
The properties include surface parking, a one-story structure with garages, and a two-story building. Businesses such as Auto Repair San Martin and D’Mary Unisex have operated there over the years. The application lists the current use of the site as “commercial/residential” and notes that demolition is planned for the premises.
Tonight’s meeting is expected to begin over Zoom at 6:00 p.m. The meeting ID is 812 6451 3979 while the access code is 476881, according to the agenda.
