In yet another sign of the narrowing divide between New York and New Jersey, NYC mega-firm Nest Seekers International opened their first Gold Coast office in Jersey City last month. With offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City, The Hamptons, Los Angeles, Miami, and London, the new office in Jersey City will widen the New Jersey client experience with full coverage of the NYC metro area and beyond.
The brokerage, whose agents are regularly featured as real estate experts in The New York Times, CNN International, CNBC, Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Bravo Network’s hit real estate reality show Million Dollar Listing, saw New Jersey as the logical next step.
With the flagship office located at 140 Bay Street in the Powerhouse Arts District, the company plans to open up in several more locations with Hoboken slated to open in the upcoming months. The New Jersey offices are headed up by local power agents, Gilli Axel and Marc Brenner.
In a press release announcing the opening, Eddie Shapiro, President and CEO at Nest Seekers International said, “Expanding to New Jersey was always part of our business plan,” and added “Upon meeting Gilli and Marc, it was immediately clear that their extensive knowledge of the Jersey City, Hoboken and Northern New Jersey markets, as well as their dedication to cultivating Nest Seekers’ uplifting culture, would make them the ideal candidates to head the new offices.”
Recruitment for the first Jersey City office is well underway. The new office was built to accommodate around 40 agents and according to Brenner, “it’s filling up quickly.” Agents considering a move to Nest Seekers will benefit from the company’s brand recognition and extensive local and international platform.

This Gold Coast expansion also puts the brokerage in the unique position to seamlessly service clients on both sides of the river. As we’ve highlighted before, there’s a large influx of people moving to New Jersey from Manhattan and Brooklyn but the trend isn’t only in one direction. Axel says they’ve also seen clients downsizing their New Jersey estates and moving into Manhattan. Thanks to their new expansion, Nest Seekers can now provide an uninterrupted end-to-end experience to their clients by keeping them in-house.
Jersey City and Hoboken have also been getting a lot of international attention recently and Nest Seekers plans to leverage their brand to help facilitate these foreign transactions. As Axel puts it, “The Gold Coast market has never been more robust, and it is ready to join the global real estate conversation through the Nest Seekers’ international platform.”
The new location in New Jersey now allows the firm to present the Gold Coast’s most coveted real estate to their vast network of international clients as well as partnering with developers to assist with planning and execution of new projects.
