Joe Pesci, one of New Jersey’s most famous actors, has unloaded his waterfront home for full asking price just about two years after first listing the property.
Top Ten Real Estate Deals recently announced that Oscar-winning actor Joe Pesci sold his Lavallette property for $6.5 million, making it one of the highest sale prices in the area. Pesci purchased the home in 1994 for $850,000 and will turn a sizable profit on the transaction.
Built in 1990, the exterior of the 7,200-square-foot home sports a heated pool and spa on an expansive deck that overlooks the water and a private pier. Designed in Art Deco style, the eight-bedroom, eight-bath house is completely fenced and features a large motor court to accommodate multiple guest cars as well as a two-car garage.
The home’s main kitchen includes built-in china cabinets, a 70-bottle wine rack, and an additional wine cooler. The connected dining room alcove is adorned with a large, three-tiered gold lighting fixture, while an adjacent spacious living room features two seating areas.
A media room on the same level is decorated with posters from Pesci’s films, a Lethal Weapon 3 pinball machine, and a barber’s chair, a nod to the actor’s first job as a barber. The upper level, which can be reached by elevator, contains an office, the primary bedroom with a private balcony, and upper terraces with spectacular views.
Pesci, who was born in Newark and raised in nearby Belleville, is best known for his roles in films like “Raging Bull,” “My Cousin Vinny,” “Home Alone,” and “Casino.” The three-time Oscar nominee took home the award for his performance as Tommy DeVito in 1990’s “Goodfellas,” giving possibly the shortest acceptance speech in the award show’s history at just five words long.
The actor initially listed the home in 2019 after deciding to relocate to California but found no takers. The house was then re-listed in February and fetched the full asking price.
