Central New Jersey will be gaining five locations of The Hummus & Pita Co. between this year and next. The fast-casual concept chain that Dave Pesso founded in NYC in 2011 will be opening locations in East Brunswick, Freehold, Holmdel, Old Bridge, and Woodbridge. The franchises will be owned by Kaushal Shah and Rishi Parikh, who have 20 years of experience as owners of multiple hospitality and retail businesses such as Taco Bell, Dunkin Donuts, and Hilton.
The Hummus & Pita Co. makes all menu items from scratch on-site while using fresh ingredients, including most recently a selection of sweet dessert hummuses. Holmdel will be the first to open, planned for this spring. Old Bridge and Freehold will also be opened this year, with East Brunswick and Woodbridge slated to open in the spring of 2019. Matt Sheppard, COO of the Hummus & Pita Co., said a variety of critical elements were evaluated to select the location sites, such as demographics and the economic development of each area.
Outside of the Garden State, The Hummus & Pita Co. will be opening multiple locations in Connecticut and Colorado. If you want a taste before the New Jersey spots open, head over to NYC to visit one of their existing locations in Chelsea, Tribeca, or Hell’s Kitchen.
