Toll Brothers City Living has launched sales for the next phase of its Hudson Tea community. The newest addition is 1400 Hudson Street, a 12-story condo building designed by Dewitt Tishman. It offers a full suite of amenities and onsite retail.
Renowned interior designer Andres Escobar handled the interiors – drawing inspiration from the site’s historic industrial past as the Lipton Tea Factory. Using materials such as rolled metals, wired glass, rich fabrics and polished concrete, the building’s common areas exude this modern take on industrial design. In a statement, Escobar said, “Our intention is to create a dynamic mix of eclectic, yet contemporary spaces that offer comfort and multi-functionality; spaces that not only cater to, but actually enhance the lifestyle of the residents.”
His vision is most notable in the building’s lobby. Exposed rough wood beams contrast with a clean white ceiling over the reception area. A wall feature emulates old factory windows using rustic metal mullions framed around old wired glass evoking the feeling of a looking into its industrial days.
Up for offer are 236 luxury residences ranging from studios to three-bedrooms. As expected, the homes are well-appointed. Modern kitchens feature quartz countertops, custom cabinetry and Bosch and Thermador appliances. Some residences have private terraces.
As for the amenities, they include a residents’ lounge, billiard room, 24-hour attended lobby, fitness center, children’s playroom, dog wash room, and on-site parking. For those wanting to entertain outdoors, other amenities include a beautifully landscaped courtyard, rain garden, rooftop pool and two rooftop terraces, providing sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline. Bicycle storage and private storage are also available.
