Online, Vancouver-based, e-commerce retailer Article has relocated to 25 Colony Road, Jersey City. The retailer inked an agreement to lease 341,000 square feet of distribution space.
“We selected the Jersey City facility to more than double our previous warehouse capacity and help us accommodate demand from our growing customer base,” Aamir Baig, co-founder, director, and CEO at Article said in a news release. “Its location will enable us to quickly serve the catchment of New Jersey and New York based customers and beyond.”
The e-commerce retailer distributes indoor and outdoor furniture and decorations.
The retailer’s new location in the Greenville section of Jersey City is proximal to Tropicana’s industrial space and Greenville Yard, which the Port Authority is in the process of upgrading through a $356 million capital expense initiative scheduled for completion by 2020. The Port Authority said economic activity will increase by $482 million at Greenville Yard.
Article’s new location in Jersey City doubles its previous footprint in New Jersey. The retailer will relocate from Elizabeth, where it occupied 143,000 square feet for two years.
Brokerage firm Colliers International managed the assignment on behalf of Article.
