The ownership behind one of the tri-state area’s most popular Pakistani restaurants have opened a new casual eatery Food Street in the heart of Secaucus.
The new restaurant, situated at 141 Front Street, is celebrating their grand opening Friday, January 26th starting at 4pm. The venture comes from the team of Ishrat Ilyas and Qamar Abba, who are behind the nearby Lahore Restaurant.
Food Street brings a modern approach to Lahori-style street food popular in that city. The menu offers a selection of burgers, sandwiches, rolls, and more including a Chicken Tikka Paratha roll or a Beef Chapli Paratha variety.
True street food options include an Aalo Tikki Burger that sports a spiced potato patty, while their Anday Wala burger blends a lentil patty with coleslaw and eggs, topped off with homemade chutney.
Other unique offerings include a Gappa Chaat, which mixes crispy puffed bread with seasoned chickpeas, potatoes, chutney, and yogurt. Food Street also serves a few more traditional options with a Pakistani spin like chicken fingers with hand cut French Fries or their Hangry double patty beef burger.
A few sweet options dot the menu including a jalebi, which is deep fried fermented batter soaked in sugar syrup. Drinks including Tha tha soda round out the menu at the cozy space, which offers counter ordering and some seating for those wishing to stay awhile.
Their initial opening hours now span from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. The restaurant can be followed on Instagram at the handle @food_st.
