A global Italian marketplace with locations in major cities has finally hit New Jersey as Eataly has launched their latest 17,000 square foot market and restaurant in the Short Hills Mall.

Jersey Digs reported on the imminent opening of Eataly earlier this year. The company, which was founded in Turin, Italy back in 2007, is now operating inside space previously occupied by Primo Mercato on the mall’s ground floor.

The biggest highlight of Eataly Short Hills might be their 230-seat restaurant and bar, Eataly Ristorante, which pays homage to the icons of Italian gastronomy. The menu at the restaurant includes traditional antipasti, pasta dishes, Pizza Napoletana, and main courses like chicken Milanese alongside a robust wine list.

The store also hosts several quick-serve counters that offer grab-and-go items including coffee, pastries, gelato, and more, plus as a curated retail section with imported Italian delicacies.

Eataly Short Hills marks the brand’s 13th North American location, with over 50 stores worldwide. To celebrate the latest outpost, Eataly Short Hills will kick off its opening week with a 10-day schedule of special events that include educational workshops, producer tastings, DJ nights with specialty cocktails, chef-led dinners, and more.

The expansion of Eataly to Short Hills marks not only their first New Jersey outpost but also their first true suburban one, as their other locations are in places like Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Las Vegas, New York City, Istanbul, and California’s Silicon Valley.
