The only train station in suburban New Jersey with SEPTA Regional Rail service to Philadelphia might soon have hundreds of additional people living nearby.
A residential development is being proposed for two properties off of Silvia Street in Mercer County’s Ewing Township that sit adjacent to the terminus of SEPTA’s West Trenton Line.
The plans involve converting an existing office building at 210 Silvia Street, also known as 420 Silvia Street, into apartments and constructing four new apartment buildings nearby.
Developer Ewing Prop, LLC is planning for the two-story office building, which was previously used by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, to become home to 42 apartments, according to documents released by Ewing Township’s municipal government. Meanwhile, the four new buildings would each be three stories tall and include a total of 96 residential units.
Ewing Prop, LLC’s land development application indicates that the company is registered out of the same address in West Windsor Township that is used by Hilton Realty.
This matter is scheduled to go before the Ewing Township Planning Board during a virtual meeting on Thursday, September 2, at 7:00 p.m. The LLC “is requesting minor subdivision, lot consolidation, preliminary and final site plan approval, waivers and variances,” according to the agenda.
West Trenton’s SEPTA stop is served by train service to Center City Philadelphia and New Jersey Transit bus service to Trenton.
