A 15-acre estate in Monmouth County owned by rock star Jon Bon Jovi was recently listed for sale by Christie’s International Real Estate. The property, located at 722 Navesink River Road is a French-inspired chateau located along the Navesink River in Middletown and consists of an 18,000-square-foot mansion and four outbuildings.
Captain Kidd’s estate in Monmouth County, known as High Point Estate was designed by New York-based architect Robert A.M. Stern and boasts six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. According to Christie’s International, the main house is “detailed with a double wide entrance driveway, brick courtyards, French balconies, tall and wide mullioned windows.” The 50-foot wide living room comes with 12-foot ceilings, a grand fireplace, parquet flooring, and a custom movie theater. The main structure features a guest wing — or staff quarters — which has its own private entrance, two bedrooms, a full bath, and its own kitchen.
Bon Jovi’s mansion offers 750 feet of frontage along the Navesink River.
According to Christie’s, the estate comes with a heated three-car garage, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and a repurposed carriage house that has three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, to name a few. The estate’s additional outbuildings include a private pub, known as the Shoe Inn, and a repurposed 20th-century stable that includes a recording studio and seven garages.
High Point Estate includes a dock with a boat lift.
According to CBS News, Bon Jovi completed High Point Estate in 1999 after two years of construction. Asbury Park Press said Captain Kidd paid $218,477 in property taxes for the 15-acre estate in 2018. The publication also reported Middletown is home to New Jersey Governor Phill Murphy’s $9.9 million home located two miles west of Bon Jovi’s estate.
Christie’s International did not disclose an asking price for the estate.
