A craft brewing operation in business for just under a decade has officially taken over a prominent Jersey Shore storefront as Asbury Park Brewing has relocated to space along the city’s main drag.
Asbury Park Brewery, which celebrates bringing craft beer and music together as tribute to the sonic history of the city they call home, launched their new space over Memorial Day weekend. Situated at 614 Cookman Avenue, the space spans 3,180 square feet, features a tap room, and will be open 7 days per week.
The company had occupied space at 810 Sewall Avenue since 2016, so their move to Cookman will certainly see more foot traffic. The brewery partnered with local artist Porkchop on an art installation that is featured in the tasting room, where you can find walls with collages of posters, photographs and concert tickets of famous musicians who have performed in Asbury Park.
“It’s been a grind the last few years trying to get this new space open,” says Asbury Park Brewery founder Bob McLynn. “We can’t wait to welcome back our old friends who used to come to punk shows at the old space along with everyone hitting us up on social media waiting for this place to open. We have some great new beers in the tanks that will be released soon!”
A total of 12 beers are on tap at the new digs, with a combination of year-round, seasonal and new releases. Live performances will be a staple of the tasting room, which is available for private events.
Behind the tasting room is a massive record wall filled with over 8,000 vinyl albums from a variety of musicians. A glass wall separating the tasting room from the brewery allows customers to see the brewing process, while the interior design of the brewery features natural and vintage elements like an exposed brick wall and reclaimed wood as bar tops.
Visitors to the brewery can bring in food from the wide selection of restaurants in Asbury Park to enjoy with their beer.
Asbury Park Brewery has a history of partnering with local and national musicians playing in the area including The Front Bottoms, Jack Antonoff and Panic! At The Disco on limited-edition beer releases. They are working on new collaborations that will be announced soon and can be followed on Instagram at the handle @asburyparkbrewery.
