Big things are happening at Clinton Corners in South Plainfield. A new 15,800-square-foot Tropical Supermarket has opened its doors and Mexican fast-casual restaurant Blue Habanero has signed a new lease commitment. Both developments will bring new energy to an already thriving neighborhood center.
Levin Management Corporation (LMC) serves as leasing and managing agent for the popular neighborhood retail center located at 1225 West 7th Street. LMC Senior Leasing Representative Vanessa Kelty arranged the leases for both the 2,145-square-foot Blue Habanero and Tropical Supermarket.
“Blue Habanero and Tropical Supermarket are wonderful additions to the tenant mix that will attract even more customers to Clinton Corners,” said Kelty. “Grocery is a significant element for any shopping center, and Tropical Supermarket is a perfect match both for this neighborhood and Clinton Corners. And with the continued impressive performance of fast-casual dining, we are excited to bring a Blue Habanero to the property.”
Tropical Supermarket, which sells Hispanic and Mexican foods expands its New Jersey footprint with the new store at Clinton Corners, replacing a Bravo Supermarket. The doors opened in October and the grocery will celebrate with a formal grand opening in early November.
Blue Habanero is known for serving Mexican favorites, including tacos, nachos, quesadillas, fajitas, and burritos as well as natural drinks and desserts. Clinton Corners is the third location for the brand, which has restaurants in Perth Amboy and Neptune City.
Currently Clinton Corners features a Burger King, a Chinese restaurant, beauty supply store, pharmacy, nail salon and laundromat. The 30,300-square-foot retail center serves an expanding population of more than 139,000 people with an average household income of $126,000 within a three-mile radius.
