A property located just a few yards away from the Newark city limits is the subject of a new multi-family development application.
The North Ward tract in question, 905-913 Mount Prospect Avenue, is where a residential project with parking on the ground floor could possibly be constructed. A Cedar Grove-based company called 50 Mount Prospect Gardens, LLC applied to the Newark Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) for multiple variances in connection with the proposed 35-unit complex, according to a legal notice.
Although 50 Mount Prospect Gardens, LLC is the applicant, a firm based on nearby Verona Avenue called the Verona Industrial and Building Supply Co. is listed as the owner of the property. The undeveloped and largely wooded lot is situated near the Pueblo Meat Market just south of the Second River and Belleville Park.
The ZBA is scheduled to discuss the matter during a public meeting this Thursday, February 20, at 7:00 p.m.
Note to readers: The dates that applications are scheduled to be heard by the Newark Zoning Board of Adjustment and other commissions are subject to change.
