South Jersey Gas hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 14 to mark the official opening of its new headquarters in Atlantic City. Construction on the building began in 2017 as part of the Atlantic City Gateway project — a $210 million public-private redevelopment initiative on 270,000 square feet of land. Approximately 200 employees will work in the building, which features modern workstations, training facilities, meeting spaces, and amenities for employees such as a cafe and a fitness center.
“Our entire South Jersey Gas team is incredibly excited that this day is finally here, and we’re ready to open our doors and share in the continued revival of the city we first called home,” said Michael J. Renna, President and CEO of SJI, South Jersey Gas’ parent company. South Jersey Gas was previously headquartered in Atlantic City for approximately 60 years, with offices located on North Michigan and Atlantic Avenues. “The time was right for us to return to our roots in Atlantic City,” Renna continued. “Atlantic City is once again on the rise.”
