Somerville will soon be home to SOMA, a four-story rental building featuring studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Developed by Sterling Properties, homes will range in size from 585 to 1,290 square feet and feature high ceilings, stainless steel appliances, and a washer/dryer in every unit. The building will also offer residents a fitness studio and tech lounge. Designed to meet LEED Silver standards, a unique feature of the building will be a bike share program, which will help residents to both reduce their carbon footprint and shop local, by giving them the ability to pedaling instead of driving into town. Renters can expect to pay $1,550 – $2,700 per month.
Located at 110 South Bridge Street, SOMA is within walking distance of Somerville’s Division Street Plaza, Main Street corridor, and New Jersey Transit’s Somerville station, which offers service into Newark Penn Station and New York City. The town was recently named one of the state’s “Great Places” by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association and a 2018 recipient of the NJ Future Smart Growth Award for its efforts to create a welcoming and walkable retail and residential district.
