A suburban Essex County property that was previously home to the North American offices of a Swiss packaging supplier is under new ownership.
The former Bobst North America site at 146 Harrison Avenue in Roseland was sold by the company in August 2020 for $27,841,000, according to county deed filings. The firm relocated its headquarters in September from Roseland to Parsippany.
The Gardens at Roseland, LLC and The Gardens at Roseland NH, LLC are listed as the new owners of the tract. The entities were incorporated in August 2020 and are associated with the same building in Short Hills that is used by Garden Homes.
An October 2019 affordable housing presentation from the Borough of Roseland mentioned plans for “the proposed 211-unit K&K Project” with “32 affordable family rental units” and “the proposed 65-unit Bobst Project” with “12 affordable senior rental units,” both at 146 Harrison Avenue.
Bobst’s former parcel in Roseland is situated in a car-oriented area with a light industrial presence that is surrounded by residential neighborhoods. The closest public transportation option is New Jersey Transit’s 71 bus to Newark Penn Station.
