New Robert De Niro Movie “The Whisper Man” is Casting New Jersey Residents

Now is your chance to appear on the big screen in a movie starring legendary actor, Robert De Niro. The new Netflix film is on the hunt for N.J. locals. According to NJ.com, the production is casting people “of all genders and ethnicities” for background roles. This includes reporters, detectives, elementary school kids, law enforcement, paramedics, parents, and pedestrians.

Based on Alex North’s best-selling 2019 novel, “The Whisper Man” is a thriller centered around the abduction of a widowed crime writer’s son. When the writer turns to his father, a retired police detective played by De Niro, they discover similarities to an old case of a serial killer dubbed The Whisper Man. James Ashcroft will direct. Netflix’s Tudum reported that Adam Scott (Severance) and Michelle Monaghan (The White Lotus) had signed on to co-star in the film.

Shooting begins in April and runs through June. The Netflix production put out an open casting call for New Jersey residents. To apply to be an extra email [email protected] with the subject line “NJ residents” and include all information below:

  • Name
  • Preferred pronouns
  • Phone number
  • Whether or not you are a member of the Screen Actors Guild
  • Whether or not you have visible tattoos
  • Whether or not you are a resident of New Jersey
  • Attach current, non-professional photos (both close-ups and full-body photos)
  • If you have a car you can work with. Please specify year, make, model and color, and attach a photo of the car.

If you are a SAG member the pay is $216 for eight hours and $181.50 for 10 hours if you’re not a member.
