A woman-owned cannabis business took a major step towards opening in Monmouth County as a new company called Pink Balloon was recently granted local approvals.
During their January 24 meeting, Neptune Township’s Planning Board greenlit a proposal to completely revamp 3536 Route 66. The property is home to an existing office building that would be razed under the dispensary plan, but the existing foundations would be reused as part of the construction.
Designed by Newark-based architectural firm Brick City Reconstruction, Pink Balloon’s facility sports a decidedly modern look. The company, owned by Garden State location Teri Festa, hopes to create an all-encompassing and welcoming recreational cannabis retail experience.
“Regardless of whether you’re a newcomer to cannabis or a seasoned enthusiast, our knowledgeable Pink Balloon team will be dedicated to assisting you in discovering the ideal product and a personally tailored journey,” reads their newly launched website. “We aspire to establish ourselves as one of New Jersey’s foremost licensed adult-use retail stores, with a strong focus on education, integrity, and community at the heart of our mission.”
No timeline has been released for an estimated opening of Pink Balloon despite the approvals. The facility will join ZenLeaf as the second dispensary in Neptune when it is up and running.
