
A Mexican eatery that has accumulated quite the following in a short time is expanding further to the Jersey Shore as Meximodo Cocina & Tequila Bar will be taking over a sizeable space in Marlboro.
The restaurant, which first opened in Metuchen back in 2023, will be replacing the shuttered Fireside Grill and Bad Hat Dumplings space at 133 South Main Street. The 10,000 square foot space matches the scale of their other locations, several of which have yet to open.
Meximodo is under the umbrella of the Le Malt Hospitality Group. The company’s concepts include Le Malt Lounge in Colonia, Le Malt Royale in Red Bank, and Le Malt Imperiale on Staten Island. Their Meximodo endeavor offers a fusion of classic and innovative Mexican dishes, prepared with locally sourced ingredients and presented with artistic flair.
The restaurant is perhaps best known for having the largest tequila selection in the New York Metro Area by offering over 1,000 different varieties. Meximodo has additionally hit the ground running in terms of expansion, as their Jersey City location is slated to open in the coming weeks.
Meximodo also announced an expansion into Parsippany earlier this year, although no timeline for opening at that location has been announced. The restaurant group hopes to have Marlboro’s spin on Meximodo up and running sometime next year.
