Escape the City

Life can be incredibly busy here in the city, but it’s important to be able to carve out some time for fun as well! And while, yes, there’s a lot of fun things to do around here, getting away for the weekend, a night or even a day can be a great mental escape. Whether you’re single, coupled up or have kids, there are plenty of options right here in New Jersey that have some great fall and winter activities.

Even short city escapes have worthy benefits—like returning with wider eyes and perhaps a souvenir in tow, or at least a little beach in your hair. Asbury Park, one of the closest shore points to Jersey City (clocking in at an hour away and skipping most shore Parkway traffic), has become an ideal destination for such a spell.
