Hoboken just had a busy week of retail openings and there’s more on the way that includes everything from burgers and shakes to Asian stir-fry and Australian coffee.

Bluestone Lane Café will start serving their Australian-style coffee and healthy, seasonal food at 409 Washington Street tomorrow. The café, first reported on by Jersey Digs, will open their Hoboken outpost on April 7th.

Elsewhere, a fast casual stir fry restaurant that recently expanded into New Jersey will be coming to 91 Washington Street. Fresh off opening their Newark location last month, Wok to Walk has started construction at their Mile Square City spot. The company has over 70 restaurants across Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and two in New York City.

The restaurant’s signature food is based off a simple three-step menu using fresh noodles, toppings, and a variety of sauces, which are cooked up for customers in a wok as part of a fiery Asian cooking show. They aim to open what will be their second NJ location in May.

The last few weeks have been busy ones at 92 River Street. The new owners of the building have been hard at work renovating and rebranding what they are dubbing the “Railhead District” and just recently opened up Birch at the property. The restaurant’s featured food is burgers and milkshakes that can also be “spiked” with liquor, but that descriptor probably doesn’t do them justice.

The shakes themselves are in the vein of NYC’s Black Top, going for a decidedly decadent look that includes toppings like toasted s’mores, peanut butter pies and chocolate covered pretzels. Their “Carnival” shake, for instance, features strawberry and vanilla ice cream topped with sour candies, carnival-style lollipops, fruit loops and cotton candy, while their “It’s Mint to Be” milkshake features Oreo crumbles, Andes chocolates, fresh mint and Pirouettes as toppers.

At the property’s other entrance, Mike’s Wild Moose Saloon opened earlier last month, with their first day of business coinciding with the LepreCon pub crawl (talk about trial by fire). The bar, which claims to be Hoboken’s only true country music bar, features an extensive wood design throughout the interior walls that give the space a decidedly down-home feel. The bar boasts daily drink specials and can be followed at the Instagram handle @mikeswildmoosesaloonhoboken.
