Asian themed fast casual restaurant chain Wok to Walk is set to open their first New Jersey restaurant today. The latest outpost is at The Shoppes on Broad at 695 Broad Street in Newark.

Wok to Walk currently has over 70 restaurants across Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and New York. The company’s signature product is based off a simple three-step menu using fresh noodles, toppings, and a variety of sauces. The ingredients for each dish are stir-fried in a wok in a fiery Asian cooking show to be served in less than five minutes.

“In today’s fast-paced environment, we see Wok to Walk as a terrific solution for getting tasty healthy food, cooked quickly and fresh to order, in a comfortable setting. New Jersey being the most densely populated state with very strong office markets should be an ideal place for them to expand,” said Alison Horbach of Ripco, who negotiated the transaction on behalf of Wok to Walk.

The company plans to open another dozen restaurants in the Garden State over the next three years. A second location is slated to open on Washington Street in Hoboken this May.

“With Ripco’s strong landlord relationships and market knowledge, we plan to rollout another dozen restaurants or more throughout New Jersey over the next thirty-six months,” said Ramos. Horbach of Ripco continues to represent Wok to Walk in its strategic site selection for its New Jersey expansion and is actively seeking sites between 900 to 1700 square feet throughout the state.

Wok to Walk joins Prudential, Nike, Starbucks, Blaze Pizza, Grabbagreen, and Qdoba at Shoppes on Broad adjacent to the new Whole Foods (opening tomorrow!) and Rutgers University. “We’re excited to be opening in Newark and looking forward to sharing our food with the community,” said Elliott Ramos, President of Wok to Walk.
