Wine Dad’s, the specialty wine, beer, and spirits store, has opened its third location in Journal Square. From Friday 7/10 through Sunday 7/12, they will celebrate their grand opening with scheduled wine and beer samples all weekend long. They invite everyone to come raise a toast to the “same deep selections mingled with popular brands, knowledgeable staff and fun vibes” they’ve brought to Hoboken and downtown Jersey City for the past 8 years.
Located right across from the Journal Square PATH Station at 53 Sip Avenue, Wine Dad’s newest Jersey City location was first announced last year. The new outpost will showcase the same mix of big names, small producers, craft brewers, and distillers that has made their first two a success. Wine Dad’s name comes from one of its founders, Jeff Carroll. A certified wine specialist, Carroll used to frequent a BYO pizza place and would share his wine pairings with the staff. His generous spirit and enthusiasm for wine led the staff to nickname him “Wine Dad.” The staff at Wine Dad’s is known to repeat the signature catchphrase: “Dad just knows.”
Wine Dad’s first opened their doors in Hoboken at 1330 Willow Avenue in 2018. For eight years, they’ve focused on being a great neighborhood store with popular wines and beers, as well as a curated selection of wines from around the world, craft spirits, and craft beer. Wine Dad’s boasts a deep selection that goes beyond what customers would find in most other stores, and they have a knowledgeable staff that specializes in great customer service.
Soon enough, downtown Jersey City was calling, and the team expanded to a second location at the corner of Jersey Avenue and 15th Street in 2022. This SoHo Loft location captures the same local spirit, experience, and expert curation as their Hoboken store.
As Journal Square continues to transform, Wine Dad’s sees an opportunity to fill a void in the neighborhood with their special approach to wine, beer, and spirits. They hope customers agree and welcome the neighborhood to their grand opening this weekend.
