An Italian all-day café is officially open for business near the Grove Street PATH Station as Alessio’s has added their second Jersey City outpost to their growing empire.

The restaurant began construction earlier this year at 125 Newark Avenue, which was formerly home to Roman Nose’s 13-year run. The café was founded by Weehawken resident Luca Infantino, who named Alessio’s after his son.

The café was initially launched on Park Avenue in Hoboken and has expanded since to a storefront in Jersey City’s The Heights neighborhood, a spot within Hoboken’s ResilenCity Park, and their most recent location in Weehawken.

The menu at Alessio’s starts with breakfast sandwiches and pastries and moves toward paninis, pizza, salads, and pasta in the later hours. The café is also recognized for its creative sandwich program, where certain menu items support rotating charitable causes.

The hours for their Newark Avenue Jersey City location span from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with service until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights to take advantage of their location along the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. Alessio’s can be followed on Instagram at the handle @alessios_cafe.
