A global clothing brand is officially heading to the Mile Square City as Abercrombie & Fitch will be taking up residence along Hoboken’s main street.

The company, known for high-quality casual wear and accessories for men, women, and children, has leased 5,000 square feet of retail space at 235 Washington Street. The new Abercrombie & Fitch store will occupy the ground floor of Hoboken House, an 18-unit development that revitalized and expanded a property formerly known as Arthur’s Steakhouse.

“We are excited to bring Abercrombie & Fitch to the Hoboken community,” said Bobby Antonicello Jr. of Grid Real Estate, who brokered the deal. “Hoboken House offers an ideal setting for the brand along busy Washington Street and contributes to the evolving retail landscape of Hoboken, merging historic charm with modern sophistication and amenities.”

Hillary Sievers of Jones Lang Lasalle represented the tenant and Bobby Antonicello Jr. of Grid Real Estate represented the landlord in the transaction. Abercrombie & Fitch’s new location reflects their strategy in recent years of expanding its reach and enhancing its presence in vibrant, high-traffic areas.

The clothing giant has not announced when exactly their Hoboken store could open but construction at the property is essentially complete, clearing the way for the buildout of their store.

National brands have become increasingly common along Washington Street, particularly the southern end. Madewell, Lululemon, Sephora, and Bluemercury are just a few of the big names that have arrived in Hoboken in recent years.
