A space on the southwest corner of Hoboken that was home to a beloved pub and restaurant will be turning over to a new business called With Love, Valentina, in the coming months.
During their May 22 meeting, an application was approved by Hoboken’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Board to transfer the liquor license at 700 First Street. The license was used for years by Northern Soul, who moved to the address in 2016 after a long run down the street.
The First Street building, known as the Sky Club, underwent an intense exterior renovation that is just about wrapping up but forced Northern Soul to shut down last year. A new company called With Love Valentina LLC has taken over the space following the transfer approval.
The owner of the license is Eduardo Genao and the business is registered out of a property in Weehawken. Geneo is the manager at Hoboken-based Wise Vision and is listed as the sole agent of the LLC.
While few other details have emerged about the With Love, Valentina, the restaurant will be focused on wine and cocktails according to testimony given to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. Construction doesn’t appear to have begun on the retail space component of the Sky Club building that will house the new restaurant.
With Love, Valentina does not appear to have established any social media presence just yet but stay tuned to Jersey Digs for future updates on the space. Construction on the exterior of the Sky Club is almost finished, as is the driveway that surrounds the new restaurant’s space.
