While an effort to legalize marijuana in New Jersey has stalled at the statehouse, the Mile Square City is still getting some “green” business via a startup specializing in high-quality Cannabidiol products that’s coming to a storefront near the city’s PATH station.

Hemp Garden, a New York City-based company with four locations in Manhattan and one in Williamsburg, has started work renovating the former home of Rejuice-A-Nation at 64 Newark Street. Its first New Jersey store will be opened by the company’s Director of Media and Marketing Darek Michael Wajda in a partnership with the owner of Hemp Garden, James Morzillo. Wajda says the storefront is being brought back to its former glory.

Exposed brick and terrazzo floors that are original to the property are being refurbished for the endeavor, while the remainder of the space is set to feature the company’s “barn wood look” complete with a live moss wall. The store strives to create an all-inclusive environment for customers and will be utilizing different types of plants and creative displays when up and running.

Hemp Garden is known for its high-quality organic products containing Cannabidiol (often abbreviated as CBD). According to Wajda, the Hoboken store will be carrying all the products that are available through the company’s website, which include edibles, vape oils, body care treatments focusing on pain relief, supplements, and beverage powders that come in varieties like coconut water or passion fruit tea.

There’s even a few CBD-infused olive oils and treats for dogs at Hemp Garden, which has an Instagram account at the handle @hempgardencbd that gives a sense of the shop’s inventory. They will also be selling items from MASK Skincare, an NYC company based out of Hemp Garden headquarters, that makes a line of CBD-infused facemasks.

Wajda is excited to be opening Hemp Garden in Hoboken, as he grew up in nearby Bergen County. He says that the company takes pride in partnering up with local business and offering discount programs, as well as sponsorship opportunities for different events. They intend to be selling their merchandise very soon; a May 24 opening date has been tentatively set for the store.
