A casual taco and burrito joint in Crown Heights will be hitting the Garden State amid a significant expansion as Tacobee’s is taking over space along Hoboken’s main street.

The company is slated to open on the ground floor of 322 Washington Street, formerly home to a Mighty Quinn’s BBQ outpost that had a somewhat surprisingly short run after opening in 2022. Tacobee’s launched just last year on Nostrand Avenue and recently opened a location in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood.

Per the Philadelphia Business Journal, Tacobee’s is looking to open four total outposts in Philadelphia. The brand’s first New Jersey location is slated to launch in Franklin Township.

Tacobee’s offers a 100% Halal counter-service with completely customizable Mexican standards like tacos, burritos, and nachos. Both corn and tortilla tacos are on the menu, as are loaded fries, birria tacos, and other fixings.

The restaurant features a variety of vegetarian and vegan protein options for every taste and a slew of different toppings and sauces. The Tex-Mex restaurant’s first two locations additionally offer late-night hours, staying open until 3 a.m. daily.

An inquiry Jersey Digs placed to Tacobee’s regarding the Hoboken location has not been answered, but the city’s Historic Preservation Committee heard a signage application from the restaurant during their September 8 meeting.

An official announcement about the restaurant has yet to be made, but those interested in potential update can follow Tacobee’s on Instagram at the handle @tacobees_mexicangrill.
