Shake Shack is officially coming to Monmouth County.
The Manhattan-based burger and fries chain is preparing to open at the Monmouth Mall near the intersection of Routes 35 and 36 in Eatontown. The location will be situated within the space that was previously occupied by Bobby’s Burger Palace, according to the Asbury Park Press. The publication quoted Eatontown Mayor Anthony Talerico Jr. as stating that the Eatontown Shake Shack has already received their construction permits.
Bobby Flay opened his Bobby’s Burger Palace restaurant at the Monmouth Mall in 2008, but the location suddenly closed around five months ago.
Jersey Digs heard unconfirmed reports of the new Shake Shack in Eatontown nearly two months ago, but Shake Shack did not return multiple requests for comment and confirmation.
The chain has been expanding into New Jersey in recent years and now has Garden State restaurants in Bridgewater, Livingston, Marlton, Paramus, and Wayne. In addition, as we first reported in 2017, Shake Shack is preparing to open in Lawrence Township and is currently hiring for that location. There are additional Shake Shack restaurants in the works for Parsippany and along the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County’s Wall Township.
