A Sichuan-style restaurant that launched in Manhattan just two short years ago will be adding another New Jersey eatery to their portfolio as the team behind Peppercorn Station will be expanding their presence in Jersey City.

Colliers has announced that they have arranged a new lease for a 2,520 square foot space situated at 545 Washington Boulevard. The team behind Peppercorn Station, a Chinese restaurant based in Manhattan that was recently been added to the Michelin Guide, is coming to the office building that serves as the international headquarters of ISO-Verisk, as well as JP Morgan Chase and HSBC.

A Colliers team led by David Tricarico and Jake Horowitz represented Harbor Group International in a deal with Canway Realty on behalf of the restaurateurs.

The planned location comes on the heels of rapid success, as Peppercorn Station opened their initial Jersey City outpost early last year at 120 Morgan Street. The eatery expanded to Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District just a year after opening their initial spot in Manhattan on 39th Street.

“Jersey City is undergoing a remarkable transformation with its rapid development and excellent connectivity to Manhattan,” said Jake Horowitz, Associate Vice President of Retail at Colliers. “This city is emerging as a hotspot for fine dining and real estate investment, making it well-positioned to welcome a restaurant with Michelin-star meals that serves as a testament to the area’s burgeoning culinary scene.”

The new restaurant, which does not yet have a confirmed name, will be taking up residence in space formerly occupied by Raaz on the building’s ground floor.

Peppercorn Station’s epic 20-page menu includes a wide variety of small and large plates, rice dishes, noodle combinations, and soups. Among the diverse offerings include beef tripe and duck blood tofu, crab meat sauce, braised trotter with black bean, or spicy pork intestine.

The restaurant group’s new eatery will be located just steps from the Newport PATH station and will join Dorrian’s and a Cosi outpost on the building’s ground floor. An opening date has not been announced.
