Two houses in Newark’s Ironbound neighborhood not far from Penn Station could be replaced with a six-story development.

With a restaurant under construction in Hoboken, the automat-driven eatery has another eight New Jersey franchises under development and recently signed leases in two Essex County locations.

Nine new three-family houses could be constructed on some of the southernmost properties in Newark, roughly a mile away from the North Elizabeth train station.

A Montclair-based company has made significant progress on a residential project that will add 60 affordable housing units in Newark.

Back in November, Jersey Digs reported on plans to bring a complex consisting of 78 "affordable residential units" and a medical facility to a location near Newark’s Georgia King Village. Now, the Newark Municipal Council could approve a 35-year tax abatement for the project.

It has been nearly three years since plans for two 40-story buildings in Downtown Newark were announced as part of a project called “The Halo.” Now, a version of the project with 949 residential units is up for approvals.

The results of an upcoming hearing could determine whether a Newark developer is allowed to build a 40-unit building on Walnut Street in the city’s Central Ward.

A self-storage complex could be built across from the Ivy Hill Park Apartments in one of Newark’s westernmost neighborhoods.
