A Garden State-born restaurant that has rapidly expanded since launching just four years ago will be opening a new location along the main retail corridor of one of Jersey City’s western neighborhoods.

Marty’s Burgers, who first launched in Fort Lee, will be setting up shop at 713 Bergen Avenue. The fast-casual concept first opened in Jersey City in 2021, launching inside a former firehouse along Central Avenue in The Heights.

The restaurant has since added a Hackensack location and is looking to open what will be their fourth outpost in McGinley Square later this year. Marty’s, as one would guess, specializes in five-and-a-half-ounce burgers that are served on Martin’s potato rolls.

Some of their signature varieties include a Swiss shroom Dijon, a bacon avocado, a “rise n’ shine” with Taylor ham and a fried egg, or an impossible burger with vegan cheese. Diners with more specific tastes can also build their own customizable burger at Marty’s.

Other options on the menu include a fried chicken sandwich with buttermilk battered fried pickles, a grilled cheese, or a griddle dog with onions, relish, and mustard. Fries are available in varieties like truffle parmesan, salt and vinegar, old bay, or disco fries (also known as poutine).

Banana pudding and several milkshake options plus ice cream floats round out the menu at Marty’s, who embrace an aesthetic of vintage advertisements at their other locations.

An opening date has not yet been announced for the McGinley Square spin on Marty’s Burgers, but the company can be followed on Instagram at the handle @martysnj for further updates.
