A chain of sushi restaurants that serves meals to its customers using conveyor belts is planning to expand into Hudson County next year.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, which is based in Southern California, is preparing to open a location at the base of the Newport Tower in Jersey City.
Located at 525 Washington Boulevard near the Newport Light Rail and PATH stations, the restaurant is tentatively expected to open in the spring of 2022, according to Kura Sushi spokesperson Lauren Murakami.
There are currently Kura Sushi locations in a dozen states and one location in the District of Columbia. Currently, the only Kura Sushi outpost in the Garden State is located in Fort Lee’s Washington Bridge Plaza.
In addition to sushi, the chain’s menu consists of soups, salads, dumplings, fried takoyaki, carpaccio, and udon.
