The retail scene in Jersey City’s fastest growing neighborhood has a new restaurant serving an authentic staple of the tri-state area as Jersey Pizza Shop has launched near Journal Square.
The shop is situated at 855 Bergen Avenue inside Parlor Place, a historic restoration and expansion project that recently wrapped construction. Jersey Pizza Shop spans 1,380 square feet and offers the best of both worlds, slinging pizzas by the slice or whole pies.

Highlights of their traditional pies include Jersey tomato variety, Hawaiian, a creamy artichoke, buffalo chicken, and a caramelized onion with gruyere on a white pie. Gluten-free crusts are available, along with a selection of square pies, including a Nonna with meatballs, bacon, and roasted red peppers, or a fully vegan Greek pie featuring roasted eggplant.
Jersey Pizza Shop also serves select classic Italian sandwiches, such as chicken parmesan or prosciutto cotto. Handmade milkshakes, Boylan’s sodas, and Brooklyn’s Best teas and lemonades round out the experience, which sports a decidedly retro vibe.

The restaurant looks to capitalize on the massive growth in the area, as Journal Square has a plethora of high-rises that are either under construction or about to open. The restaurant and retail scene is starting to heat up as well, with everything from the upscale BRBQ to Target to Paris Baguette coming to the neighborhood.
Jersey Pizza Shop has online ordering through their website and is looking to host a grand opening event sometime in the next two weeks. They can be followed on Instagram at the handle @jersey_pizza_shop.
