A recently completed condo building in Hoboken’s north end has a ton of retail space to fill, and three tenants have officially signed leases to open up shop in the latest addition to the Hudson Tea complex.
Last year, 1400 Hudson Street from Toll Brothers wrapped construction, and the ground floor of the building sports a whopping nine storefronts. Three of them have been filled, and construction is already underway at what will be the latest outpost of Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa.
The chain, which will be opening on the 15th Street side of the building, has over 300 locations worldwide including one at The Promenade in Edgewater. The business specializes in Swedish, Hot Stone, and Deep Tissue massages and has facial options for women and men of several varieties.
Just one door down also on the 15th Street side will be the new home of Club Pilates, a San Diego-based company. The facility takes the philosophy of Joseph Pilates, who invented the method, seriously and utilizes his original reformer-based “Contrology” method but modernized with state-of-the-art equipment.
Club Pilates strives to offer high-quality, life-changing training at an affordable price and offers a free intro class through their website for those interested when the Hoboken location opens.
On the Hudson Street side of the property in the middle of the block, a more local business will be taking up residence. Approved by the Planning Board in November, Little City Play is an interactive play space of over 2,100 square feet where children can learn, explore, discover, imagine, and play. The business aims to help children learn to solve problems, get along with others, and to develop the fine and gross motor skills needed to grow and learn.
Toll Brothers has already started pile driving at their next project at 1423 Hudson Street across the way from 1400 Hudson, but there should hopefully be more coming to the completed property soon. There is a good chance the options could be diverse; of the six other retail spaces still available in the building, two of them run over 3,000 square feet and come equipped with kitchen exhaust systems.
