UPDATE: Jersey City made it to the final round! We now go head to head with the Financial District. Voting ends January 2, let’s win this thing! Vote for Jersey City here!

We’re down to the final four and Jersey City is still in the running to become Curbed’s neighborhood of the year. For our second to last showdown, we’re up against Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights. They actually won the competition back in 2005, which further backs our belief that this year is Jersey City’s time to shine. Though some commentators are vehemently against Jersey City even being nominated for the competition, it’s clearly been a huge year for the city.

If the goal is to find out what ‘neighborhood’ had the best year, it’s hard to argue that Jersey City shouldn’t go all the way. This year has brought a great deal media attention to our city, with a handful of features in both the NY Times and Wall Street Journal as well as mentions in a bunch of other outlets. Let’s not forget that Jersey City was also ranked the most livable city in the US by SmartAsset.

Make sure to vote and check back – if our passionate community keeps it up, we will certainly make it to the final round.
