Skyline Development is holding a community meeting tonight to discuss a Jersey City project that includes affordable housing, green space, a minority business incubator, and a fitness facility.

A proposal that would transform almost two acres along the city’s western fringe includes 17 units for homeless veterans and $3 million towards the construction of a community center and pool that the city currently lacks.

A SoHo-based firm envisions a green space on the former elevated rail line that connects visitors to the arts with sections carved out for sculptures and performances in addition to recreational activities.

A final phase of open space adds step seating, a tilted lawn panel, play sculptures and a large plaza complete with retail and seasonal markets.
