A breakfast and lunch spot in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood is the newest New York City restaurant to cross the Hudson River as a business called Gotan has officially opened their doors in Jersey City.
Situated at 198 Van Vorst Street, the Jersey City outpost is the second spot for Gotan Coffee Kitchen. Their cozy space, situated near the Hudson Bergen Light Rail, offers table and high-top seating.
The self-described “coffee-forward shop” has a partnership with Counter Culture as their roaster, and the kitchen is light and seasonal with an emphasis on fresh vegetables.
Several of their all-day breakfast items include a scrambled cheddar biscuit, avocado feta toast. health bowls, and salads alongside sandwiches and paninis. rotating soup of the day. Gotan Coffee Kitchen serves teas sourced from SerendipiTea also offers a selection of pastries, including a few gluten-free options.
The café has already created a Jersey City-specific Instagram account at the handle @gotanjc. They are currently open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
