Union Republic will be closing for good this Saturday. The restaurant announced the closure via a Facebook post:
Dear Friends,
Union Republic’s last dinner service will be Saturday September 10th. The last three years have been a time of tremendous growth but unfortunately Union Republic has run its course. I look forward to seeing you all over the next few days.
The restaurant was lauded as a trailblazer when it opened 3 years ago at 340 Third Street in the Village with its modern interior and inventive menu. It even garnered a review by the New York Times. They post gave no indication of what brought about the closure. Hopefully, the owners move on to something bigger and better.
