Residents of Jersey City will soon be able to buy cannabis from a business backed by one of TV’s most famous cops as a new dispensary called The Medicine Woman has been given the full green light.

New Jersey’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) approved the company’s application to open at 660-684 Tonnelle Avenue. The Medicine Woman is co-owned by Ice-T (a.k.a. Tracy Lauren Marrow) and Charis Burrett, a former Playboy model.

The Jersey City outpost of The Medicine Women will be the second location of the company after Burrett opened the first location in California. Their Tonnelle Avenue facility will span a whopping 5,000 square feet.

“Our mindset is to bring global medicine to local areas at an affordable price for everybody,” Burrett told High Times last year. “We believe that cannabis should be available to everybody that needs it. You know, it is a beautiful medicine. It’s been around for centuries. And we love being able to educate people and communities, have healthy debates and like I said, bring global medicine to local communities at affordable prices.”

The Medicine Woman aims to provide a full spectrum of global plant medicines to benefit the health and wellness of our local communities. The Garden State location is a bit of a full circle move for Ice-T, who was born in Newark and grew up in Summit.

Burrett said The Medicine Woman’s target date for their Jersey City opening is in the spring or early summer this year, with construction work set to begin following the approval of local permits.
