The Gyro Project is set to open its eighth restaurant in Northvale. Located at 269 Livingston Street, the fast-fine Greek restaurant will feature the brand’s authentic Greek flavors in a modern setting. Opening April 23rd, the Northvale launch is the latest move as the chain expands in New Jersey and across the tri-state area.

The chain has big plans for opening day. Starting at 5pm, the first 100 in-store patrons can dig into $5 gyros. The Northvale location is roughly 2,500 square feet, can seat 50 guests, and can handle a robust takeout business. Echoing the menu from the flagship location, Northvale will offer Greek classics with a modern approach, including gyros, mixed grill platters with rice, hummus, loaded fries, tzatziki, and the brand’s own Greek frozen yogurt.

“We’re excited to continue growing in New Jersey and bring The Gyro Project experience to Northvale,” commented George Tenedios, co-owner of The Gyro Project. “New Jersey is where it all began for us, so returning to our flagship state and expanding here in Bergen County feels especially meaningful. We look forward to serving both new guests and our loyal fans in the area.”

Tenedios and childhood friend Spiro Kokkosis co-founded The Gyro Project in hopes of bringing top-notch Greek food to New Jersey and New York. The first location in Fort Lee opened in the summer of 2023, and the chain has expanded rapidly. In 2025, they debuted restaurants at the Junction at Gateway Center in Newark, as well as NYC outlets in the Garment District, Hudson Yards, the Upper West Side, Murray Hill, and Midtown East. The Gyro Project’s 9th store will premiere on the Upper East Side this summer.

Honoring tri-state healthcare workers during National Nurses Week, the Gyro Project will offer 10% off in-store orders at all locations for nurses and hospital staff with valid work credentials from May 6th through 12th.

The Gyro Project in Northvale will open its doors on Thursday, April 23, at 5 pm. Regular business hours will be 10am-11pm, seven days a week.
