As part of a major ongoing redevelopment, West Orange Plaza celebrated the grand opening of a 150,000-square-foot Target, broadly expanding the shopping center’s retail options. Located at 235 Prospect Avenue in West Orange, this is the 55th Target in the state and the third to open over the past year. First announced in 2024, the new store will provide approximately 280 jobs and serve as a co-anchor to a recently expanded Whole Foods.

North Plainfield-based Levin Management Corporation (LMC) serves as the West Orange shopping center’s leasing agent. They also work with the center’s joint-venture ownership and LMC’s construction management team to deliver an ambitious vision for the continued transformation of West Orange Plaza.

“Bringing Target to West Orange Plaza marks an exciting step in the property’s evolution,” commented Sidney Singer, LMC’s VP of Leasing. “This addition introduces one of the nation’s best-known retailers to the center, enhances the shopping experience for the community, and reinforces West Orange Plaza’s strength as a retail destination.”

The new Target will offer drive-up, order pickup, and same-day delivery through Target Circle 360. Next-day delivery will be available throughout West Orange. Both CVS Pharmacy and Starbucks will be in-store partners.

Additional new West Orange Plaza leases secured by LMC include Namkeen Hot Chicken, Quickway Japanese Hibachi, VIO Med Spa, and Club Pilates as part of an outparcel development program. These businesses join a vibrant mix of national and regional retailers.

“The arrival of Target represents an important milestone within the broader redevelopment now underway at West Orange Plaza,” added Max Gagneon, VP of Construction for LMC. “Our team continues to advance a multimillion-dollar redevelopment that includes new buildings, expanded outparcel space, and site upgrades, positioning the property for future tenants while enhancing the experience for the community.”
