A long vacant retail space along the Jersey City waterfront will soon be springing to life as Refined Wines & Spirits will be hosting their opening weekend with a bang.

Jersey Digs first reported on the store’s imminent arrival at 47 Grand Street back in March. Situated just off the road’s intersection with Greene Street, Refined Wines & Spirits will offer a curated collection of small-production wines, handcrafted spirits, and rare finds that you won’t find at your typical store.

The business is run by Antek Sienkiel and he has assembled a wine buying team with an immense amount of experience. Leading the wine team is Ellen Sarembaud, who previously worked at Bottle Rocket NYC and the world-famous Millesima USA. The store will boast a 150-bottle count of temperature-controlled wines in their space.

Spirits at the business will be curated by Carlos Ramos, who brings over three decades of experience working at Hoboken’s Sparrow Wine & Liquor and Cork. Customers can look forward to a diverse selection of single malts, bourbon, and tequila ranging from a $21.99 bottle of Four Roses bourbon to a Macallan M Black scotch that retails for $8,649.99.

Refined Wine & Spirits will be opening their doors for good on Saturday, October 11. The store will be hosting free tastings all day from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will be doing so every weekend in the coming weeks.

Sienkiel shared with Jersey Digs that Refined Wine & Spirits will also be hosting many events such as dinners, parties, and gatherings throughout the year. Those looking to keep updated on the latest goings on can follow the store on Instagram at the handle @refined.wines.
